Coil-built, white stoneware, black matte and volcanic glaze
Terra Obscura is hand-built in dark clay with an organic, looping form that folds inward. Its asymmetrical silhouette includes an opening, inviting the eye to travel through the piece. Along one side, a series of small perforations punctuates the dark body, revealing the white clay underneath and introducing rhythm and light. A volcanic glaze pools in the interior space, while a small neck emerges from the crest of the form. Both ancient and contemporary, Terra Obscura explores themes of concealment and revelation.
