Coil-built, white stoneware, black matte and volcanic glaze
Terra Obscura is hand-built in black clay with a loop that folds inward. Its asymmetrical form includes an opening that invites the eye to travel through the piece. Along one side, a series of small perforations reveal the white clay underneath. A volcanic glaze pools in the interior space, while a small neck emerges from the crest of the form. Both ancient and contemporary, Terra Obscura explores themes of concealment and revelation.
Measures approx. 10” x 13” x 6”, 7 pounds, 1.1 ounces
