Slab-built, black stoneware clay with white slip and red glaze
Mountain Gal is a hand-built ceramic wall sculpture that combines abstract composition with a playful, archetypal presence. Collage-like slabs are layered and animated by circles: bold red accents, hand-drawn circles incised to reveal the raw black clay beneath the white slip, and black clay rock-like forms. The irregular edges and distressed surface give Mountain Gal both an ancient and contemporary feel.
Measures approximately 11” W x 21” H x 2” D.

Mountain Gal is currently on display as part of the Anniversary Exhibit, In Good Company, at D'art Gallery, 900 Santa Fe Street, Denver, and is not available for purchase on this website.
