Coil-built, black with white stoneware clay, unglazed

A round, irregular form in gritty black stoneware. A ring of white oval outlines circles the belly of the piece, each one slightly different in scale and angle. The top dimples inward. Full Circle inspired both the Circles Collection and a series of three-footed sculptural pieces called Orbit Vessels.

Lines Vessel - Small is slim and curvy with a bold two-tone line design. The mod lines were incised and filled with white clay to lend a graphic quality, while retaining the warmth of handmade ceramic work. Hand-built with coils in black stoneware clay with white clay accents. The unglazed clay appears black with light specks in most lights, but sometimes (for example, when wet) it looks very dark brown. The interior is glazed clear. Watertight.
