An apostrophe is a mark that signals something omitted, something implied, a belonging. This piece carries those characteristics quietly. Apostrophe Vessel gestures toward meaning without declaring it, that holds its interior in reserve, that leans into the space beside it as if waiting for what comes next. The effect of matte black glaze on black clay is a little gritty. Its interior is glazed clear. Watertight.
