A La Polka Vessel

Coil-built, black stoneware, red and orange satin glaze.

With undulating planes and a subtle indentation, A la Polka is both angular and rounded. Its surface is dotted by overlapping red and orange circles on black clay. The opening, a small, tilted aperture, lends a quiet focal point. A La Polka Vessel is hand-built with coils in black stoneware clay. Red and orange satin glazes were applied by brush, leaving unglazed raw black clay elsewhere. The interior is glazed clear. Watertight.

A La Polka is currently on display at the Triangle Gallery in Rockport, ME.

Measures approximately 8” x 5.5” x 10.25”, 4 pounds, 10.3 ounces
