Organic Black Vessel with Metallic Glaze

This Organic Black Vessel begins with a foundation of black clay. Its surface was wrapped in a spiraling band of resist tape. When metallic glaze was applied, the tape preserved the raw, matte body beneath, leaving a striking contrast of sheen and shadow. The result is a ribbon of reflective glaze winding around the vase, suggesting movement and rhythm as it catches the light. This vessel was coil-built with black stoneware. Its interior is glazed clear. Watertight. 

Measures approx. 5.25” x 5.25” x 6”, 1 pound, 6 ounces.
